Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator which enables the suppression of exfoliation of a heat-resistant layer, and to provide a lithium ion secondary battery superior in cycle characteristics by suppressing the exfoliation of a heat-resistant layer.SOLUTION: A separator comprises: a porous film made of a thermoplastic resin; and a heat-resistant layer on the porous film on at least one side thereof, including inorganic particles and a binding agent. The binding agent is a polyacrylic acid salt with an average degree of polymerization of 2500-30000, which is produced by crosslinking polyacrylic acid with 0.1-5 mass% of at least one kind of metal cations selected from magnesium ions, alkali-earth metal ions, aluminum ions, nickel ions, copper ions and zinc ions.
