Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a low temperature type fuel cell of improved conductivity by dispersing and depositing a carbon powder on a ferrite system stainless steel base material of excellent acid resistance.
SOLUTION: This separator has a base material 13 of a ferrite system stainless steel and a carbon particle 14 such as a carbon black or graphite powder dispersed and attached on the base material surface in an island shape. The carbon particle 14 is preferably jointed on the base material surface through a diffused layer. The separator has low contact resistance. Therefore, Joule heat to be a heat loss when a plurality of cells is stacked can be suppressed.
