Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene powder which gives a molded product having excellent solubility, excellent continuous machining productivity, high product physical properties, and excellent long-term stability, and to provide a molding obtained from the polyethylene powder and a separator for a lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: The polyethylene powder has a viscosity-average molecular weight of 100,000 to 1,500,000 inclusive, a total metal content of 1 ppm or more and less than 15 ppm, and a total chlorine content of 5 ppm or less. The content of polyethylene particles having a particle diameter greater than 355 μm is 2.0 mass% or less, and the content of polyethylene particles having a particle diameter of 75 μm or less is 0.5 to 20.0 mass% inclusive.
