To provide a serial communication device shortening transmission and reception time of data without raising the speed of serial communication.
The serial communication device is provided with a CPU controlling the entire device, a transmission data storing means for writing transmission data by the CPU, a reception storing means for storing data received by serial communication, an address generating means for generating a communication address, a master serial communication control means for sending the transmission data read by the transmission data storing means as serial data in accordance with the communication address generated by the address generating means, and writing received serial data in the communication address of the reception data storing means, and a slave serial communication control means for carrying out serial communication with the master serial communication control means. Communication traffic of serial communication carried out by the master serial communication control means is changed in response to a state of the device.
