To provide a serial printer capable of suppressing the occurrence of problems accompanying an improvement of a throughput while the throughput is attempted to be improved.
An inkjet printer performs a printing by repeating a movement in the main scanning direction of a recording head for jetting a liquid to a recording paper and a feed in the sub-scanning direction of the recording paper. In addition, a moving action of the recording head and a feed action of the recording paper are superposed by a specified superposing time. In the serial printer, when a feed from the front position of the recording paper to a specified position is detected, the superposing time is changed (step S13). In this case, it is changed so as to decrease the superposing time.
