A server-side method for solving traffic jams to support travels includes: a step of setting virtual nodes on the basis of map information; a step of calculating a power spectrum from frequency analysis of an acceleration of a representative vehicle representing vehicles 2 existing between virtual nodes; a step of calculating a maximum value of variations in inclination of simple linear regression of the power spectrum as an inclination maximum value; a step of estimating an inter-vehicle distance distribution from a distance between the representative vehicle and a preceding vehicle to calculate a minimum value of covariance; a step of estimating a vehicle group distribution ahead of the representative vehicle from correlation between the minimum value of covariance and the inclination maximum value; a step of predicting a traffic jam in real time on the basis of the vehicle group distribution; and a step of providing information of real-time traffic jam prediction to the vehicles 2 existing between virtual nodes.
