To provide a device which selectively reads a group of commands printed in paper by a scanner, and inputs the commands, wherein the device effectively deals with a contradiction between the input commands.
In a command sheet 100, a command name and an embedded code 114 are printed for each operation setting command to be executed in an image forming device 10. The image forming device 10 has a hand held scanner 20 for reading the embedded code 114, and successively stores the operation setting commands corresponding to the code 114 in a selection storage section 14 as a result of selection by the scanner 20. At this time, a main control section 18 determines whether or not the currently selected command contradicts a previously selected command in reference to an inconsistency information storage section 17. If the commands contradict each other, the control section 18 displays a warning message on a display section 12.
