Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make a half-engaged clutch condition by enabling at least one of a pressure plate and a rotating body on the driving or driven side to shift axially with a tilted surface formed on plane facing each other of the two components produced through axial facing thereof. CONSTITUTION:When a control rod 30 is allowed to shift right together with a ring-shaped cam 26, a cam floor 23 moves onto a higher portion of the surface of the cam 26 to depress a flanged pin 18, whereby the pin 18 compress a spring 22 to allow a medium diameter portion 18B to be brought into contact with a tilted surface member 16. Accordingly, the member 16 is exerted by the spring 22 to push a ball 27. Thus, a half-engaged clutch condition is made by the pressure of the spring 22. When the rod 30 is allowed to shift right further, a locking pin 3 is pulled out of an embedded hole 35 by a flange 31 of the cam 26, whereby a flange 2 and a pressure plate 3 make a relative rotation so that the ball 27 moves onto tilted surfaces 13 and 14. The resulting force makes a pressure between steel plates 6 and friction plates 9. In this manner, the clutch is completely engated.
