To attain the vertical movements of the slide suitable for press working by setting the passage points of the slide with its movement assumed and setting a position, speed, pressing capability, press holding time, and speed hold block for each passage point.

The height of the slide 2 at its highest position is inputted in a curve setting unit 13. By inputting the speed for lowering the slide 2 from this position to the next, the time elapsed is calculated, with the lowering route of the slide 2 indicated in a straight line. A pressure is inputted that is generated while the slide 2 moves from a certain position to the next. For the pressure holding time column, the stationary time of a pressurized state at a certain position is inputted. Thus, with various items at each passage point inputted, a continuous line can be obtained showing the vertical movements of the slide 2. Depending on working, a validity/invalidity button is pressed for smoothing a forming curve.
