To provide a servomotor driven press which facilitates press control for obtaining high speed and high output of a press slide at an optional position without requiring an increase in the height and size of the press, and which has improved accuracy.
The slide 5 of the press 1 is provided with a screw shaft 6 for slide elevation in a suspended condition, the output shaft of a low output-high speed servomotor 8 for non-press forming, the output shaft 11 of a high output-low speed servomotor 10 for press forming are provided each parallel to the screw shaft, the output shaft 11 being provided with a clutch, the lower part of the screw shaft is screwed with a gear 13 for screw shaft elevation via an inner screw 12, and further, rotation transmission gears 14, 15 rotatively supported by means of the output shaft of the servomotor for non-press forming and the output shaft of the servomotor for press forming, respectively are each engaged with the gear for screw shaft elevation and the screw shaft is driven freely elevatably at high speed or at low speed.
