Abstract:

To provide a setting device capable of easily and rapidly setting the operation condition of an operation unit even in the case of adding a new operation unit, and to provide an operation device, a setting method, a setting program and a recording medium on which the setting program is recorded.

A control part 1 transmits a requirement to transmit identification information to a printer engine 2, and also receives the identification information transmitted from the printer engine 2. Even in the case of adding the new operation unit to the printer engine 2, an operator who sets and operates the operation condition need not perform work for storing the identification information of the new operation unit in the EEPROM 14 of the control part 1 as shown in the conventional technology. Thus, the operator easily and rapidly sets the operation condition of the new operation unit on the basis of the identification information received from the printer engine 2.
