To provide a setting machine of a saw chain, using a handy type electric motor to rotate a round shaft-like grinding tool or a round shaft-like grinding stone at high speed to thereby efficiently perform setting for the saw chain at the side part in setting the cutting edge of a cutter blade constituting a part of the saw chain, and laying a guide body in a position conformable to the setting angle of one of right and left cutter blades to perform setting without wobbling in a stable attitude.
In the setting machine body 2, the round shaft-like grinding tool 7 is fitted to the tip of a driving shaft of the handy type electric motor, a mounting part 6 to mount to the front end of the electric motor and a guide body 8 are mounted from the front end of the electric motor to the forward. The guide body 8 is fitted and placed along the upside of the saw chain 30 to be directed to meet the setting angle of one of right and left cutter blades 31, 32 of the saw chain 30, and provided with openings 85, 86 having an X-shape in plan view and through which a part to be set can be observed from above.
