PURPOSE: To obtain a shield setting structure for retaining an engaged state of a shield without using a shield pressing cover, capable of attaching and detaching the shield by one operation by taking advantage of spring action of a member made of a synthetic resin.
CONSTITUTION: The setting structure of a shield in a helmet consists of base plates 2 which are fixed to the right and left outer sides of a main body 1 of the helmet and a shield 7 which is engaged with the right and left base plates 2, supported and rotated in a given range. The base plates 2 are provided with axial parts 8 to be a revolution center of the shield 7 and suspension stopping parts 11 and 11' at circumferential symmetric positions around the axial parts 8. The suspension stopping parts 11 at one side are approachable and separable from the other suspension stopping parts 11' by spring action. On the other hand, attaching holes 4 to be engaged with the axial parts 8 are formed in a long hole shape along the same direction as that of the arranged suspension stopping parts 11 and 11' at the sides of the base plates 2, at the right and left side parts of the shield 7. Further, hook parts 5 and 5' to be engaged with the suspension stopping parts 11 and 11' at the sides of the base plates 2 are made in the circumference of the attaching holes 4.
