To provide a lock sewing machine in which the connection/disconnection operation of an upper looper is easy and safe.
Driving force from a main spindle 1 of the sewing machine is transmitted to a driven shaft 6 through a cam 2, a rod end 3, a driving shaft 4, a driving arm 5, a transmission plate 8 and a driven arm 7 to reciprocate the upper looper coupled to the driven shaft 6. The driven arm 7 can be coupled/uncoupled to/from a guide body 9 mounted on the driven shaft 6 and fixes the guide body 9 by inserting an arm section 12-1 in a recessed part 9-2 in an uncoupling condition to lock the driven shaft 6 and the upper looper. The position of the arm section 12-1 is established at a position corresponding to the neighborhood of the bottom dead point of the upper looper to lock and hold the upper looper near the bottom dead point.
