To provide a sewing machine capable of surely transmitting the power of an electric motor to a bobbin winder.
The sewing machine 1 includes the bobbin winder 70. The bobbin winder 70 includes a bobbin winder spindle 72 rotatably pivoted by a support base. On the lower end part of the bobbin winder spindle 72, a bobbin pulley 74 is provided. On the support base, a long-length sensing lever 75 turned around a spindle is provided. On the upper end of the bobbin winder spindle 72, a bobbin support end 72A is provided. When the sensing lever 75 is turned toward the bobbin support end 72A, the bobbin winder spindle 72 is moved by a cam mechanism, and the bobbin pulley 74 is brought into contact with the surface of a rotary plate 66 mounted on a motor output shaft 35. When a motor is driven and the motor output shaft 35 is rotated, the rotary plate 66 is rotated and the bobbin pulley 74 is rotated. Thus, the power of the motor is surely transmitted to the bobbin winder 70.
