To provide a shade member control device for automatically opening and closing a shade member which intercepts the sunlight.

The shade member control device 1 is employed for automatically opening and closing the shade member 3 attached to the upper part of a window frame 2 on the indoor side of a residence in order to intercept the sunlight. The device includes: a sunlight panel 4 which converts the sunlight into electric power by receiving the sunlight: a condensed means 5 which stores electric power produced by the photoelectromotive force of the sunlight panel 4: a driving means 6 which is actuated by the electric power stored by the condensed means 5 and can open and close the shade member 3; and a control means 7 which actuates the driving means 6 after determining whether electromotive force produced from the sunlight panel 3 exceeds a threshold beforehand established.
