PURPOSE: To improve phyisical strength in such a way that a shadow mask and a frame are arranged to form a closed curvature and are tightly fixed together.
CONSTITUTION: The side wall 10a of a shadow mask 10 is formed in a straight line. A frame 20 consists of the first fixed part 20a to be welded and fixed at the lower part of the side wall 10a of the shadow mask 10, a closed curved part 20b which is bent inward at the boundary of the first fixed part 20a and further erected upward, the second fixed part 20c which is bent at the top of this closed corved part 20b along the upper part inner side end part 10b beyond the effective part of the shadow maks 10 while welded and fixed at the upper part inner side end part 10b, and a bent part 20d which is bent downward at the boundary of the second fixed part 20c and further bent inward. And when the first and second fixed parts 20a, 20c of the frame 20 are welded and fixed respectively to the corresponding parts 10a, 10b of the shadow mask 10, a closed curvature is formed by the shadow mask 10 and the frame 20.
