PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of doming of a shadow mask type color cathode-ray tube.
CONSTITUTION: A tungsten oxide deposited film 7a is formed on the electron- beam application face side of a shadow mask 3 for use in a shadow mask type color cathode-ray tube and a bismuth deposited film 7b is formed on the tungsten oxide deposited film 7a. Since the tungsten oxide deposited film is deposited through sublimation, blinding detect can be prevented and also an intermediate layer is formed by the chemical reaction of the film 7a with iron oxide so that the strong adhesion of the film can be maintained. Further, since bismuth is high in vapor pressure and low in melting point as compared with bismuth oxides, the production index of the shadow mask is shortened.
