In a metal band plate with a required width, flat parts are formed at both end parts 4, 4, and a part outside both end parts is spirally 3 twisted in the axial direction to constitute the shaft part 1. A metal band plate with required dimensions is used as raw material, and cut to a required length. In the thus formed metal band plate, both end parts are fixed and held in designated positions, and with the holding space kept constant, rotating force is applied to one end part to twist the raw material, thereby forming the part outside both end held parts spirally.
