Abstract:
To prolong service life of a shaft seal device and improve its reliability.
A lip seal 30 is stored in a seal storage chamber 23 between a peripheral face 131 of a rotary shaft 13 and a front housing 12. The lip seal 30 is provided with a rubber lip ring 35 and a lip ring 36 made of resin. Diamondlike carbon films 39, 40 are provided in a slide contact part 351 of the rubber lip ring 35 coming into slide-contact with the peripheral face 131 of the rotary shaft 13 and a slide contact part 361 of the lip ring 36 made of resin.
