Title:
SHAFT SEAL DEVICE OF OIL-FREE ROTARY COMPRESSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008255796
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a shaft seal device of an oil-free rotary compressor causing less leakage even if there is an up or down temperature change during operation and discharging a clean compressed gas by maintaining the optimum clearance between itself and a slidable contact part to minimize the compressed gas leaking from a seal part even if the temperatures of a shaft member, a carbon seal, and a holding member for holding the carbon seal are raised during the operation of the rotary compressor and preventing a lubricating oil from flowing into a compression chamber.

This shaft seal device of an oil-free rotary compressor comprises a carbon ring 83 having an air seal 71 in slidable contact with the outer periphery of a rotor shaft sleeve 75 and an outer ring 85 fitted to the outer periphery of the carbon ring 83. The carbon ring 83 and the outer ring 85 are so fitted to each other by shrink fit that their interference is not zero at the maximum temperature when used. The outer ring 85 is formed of a material having the same coefficient of linear expansion as the rotor shaft sleeve 75.
