Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent abrasion or breakage of a shaft seal device by overheat by cooling lubrication liquid in an inner side circular chamber of a shaft seal chamber by part of discharged water during water discharge operation of a pump.
CONSTITUTION: A branch tube 30 communicated with a secondary water passage 9 is installed on a lower end of a pump housing 8, and a drain 10 is connected to a lower end of the branch tube 30. Next, an aperture 31 communicated with an outer side circular chamber 20 is provided in a shaft seal cylinder 14, a branch port 30' of the branch tube 30 and the aperture 31 are connected to each other by pipings 32, secondary pressure water supplied through a primary impeller 1 of a pump, a primary water passage 23, a secondary impeller 2, and a secondary water passage 9 is introduced through the branch tube 30 and pipings 32 to an outer side circular chamber 20 to cool the shaft seal cylinder 14, and after cooling, it is sent to the primary water passage 23.
