Abstract:
PURPOSE:To absorb deformation of a rotary shaft and deformation due to the external factor of a casing, by a method wherein a packing case, having a built-in shaft sealing body with which a rotary shaft is covered, is attached to a stuffing box through a packing case to provide flexibility. CONSTITUTION:A packing case 2 is mounted to a stuffing box 1 through a packing 3 and a spring 4. A gland packing 5 is mounted to the packing case 2, and is pressed by a gland 6 to shut off the internal and external pressure of a rotary shaft part. The packing case 2, having the gland packing 5, is mounted by the packing 3 and a spring 4, and thereby the packing case freely follows mutual displacement between a rotary shaft 7 and the stuffing box 1, and a load produced due to displacement is prevented from transmission to the rotary shaft 7. This absorbs deformation of the rotary shaft and deformation occurring due to the external factor of the casing.
