PURPOSE: To reduce blurred photography even in the state of releasing a shake correction by arranging a switch button on an opposite side to a release button by interposing a photographing lens between the buttons.
CONSTITUTION: This camera is provided with the shutter release button for releasing a shutter, a shake amount detection means 1 for detecting the shake amount of a camera, a shake correction means 4 correcting shake in accordance with a detection signal from the means 1, and a shake correction stopping switch SW3 for stopping the operation of the means 4. The switch SW3 is arranged on the opposite side to the shutter release button by interposing the photographing lens between them. The switch button constitutes the shake correction stopping switch SW3. Since the switch button is arranged on the opposite side to the release button by interposing the photographing lens between them, the camera must be necessarily held with both hands in the case of operating the switch button. Namely, in the shake correction released state, the camera is held with both hands so as to assist with the left hand.
