Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily determine the shape of an object by detecting the change of the volume between a pipe and the object from the change of a gas in accordance with the law of gaseous reaction. CONSTITUTION:A pressure sensor 2 is provided at a side wall of a pipe 1 confronting an object 3 via a constant distance (d). The pressure sensor 2 using, for example, an electrostrictive material generates the distortion pressure when it is driven by the addition of a voltage. On the other hand, when the pressure is added from outside, the pressure sensor 2 detects a voltage signal. Therefore, when the pressure sensor 2 is driven to act a constant pressure inside, the volume of the internal gas is changed in compliance with the law of gaseous reaction. The repulsive force as the reaction of the volume change is detected as electric signals by tone sensor 2, so that the volume between the pipe 1 and the object 3 is detected. The volume represents a value corresponding to the shape of the object, and therefore the shape can be easily determined.
