Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove the ambiguity in partial area judgement by clarifying the separation between partial areas in the use of a pattern light projection method for radiating a light pattern to partial areas divided to two or more, such as area-divided intensity ratio method.
SOLUTION: The light pattern emitted from a lighting means L is projected to n-divided slit-like partial areas Ai (i=1-n) as illuminating light. A separation area Wi (i=1 to n-1) not used for determination of shape is provided between the respective partial areas Ai, whereby an abnormal value of shape caused at the end of the partial area Ai can be removed. The separation area Wi may be discriminated from the partial area Ai by any method. After the range of the separation area Wi is specified, shape data Si with the persistent ambiguity of a partial area number i is estimated to the remaining partial area Ai, and the ambiguity is thereafter removed, thereby, intended shape data Zi can be determined.
