Each floodlighting element 11 performs sequentially floodlighting operation twice at every time. A light receiving signal from a light receiving element 12 forming a pair with the floodlighting element 11 is validated synchronously with the first-time floodlighting operation of each floodlighting element 11, and a light receiving signal from a light receiving element 12 forming a pair with a floodlighting element 11 in the next turn to the floodlighting element 11 is validated synchronously with the second-time floodlighting operation, and each signal is determined by a comparator 28 whether it is in the light receiving state or not. Namely, light receiving light shielding determination is performed to not only the optical axis formed by the floodlighting element 11 and the light receiving element 12 forming a pair mutually but also to the optical axis formed by each floodlighting element 11 and the light receiving element 12 forming a pair with the floodlighting element 11 in the next turn.
