To improve a shaping jig such that replacement of a component at a pawl part due to wear and alteration of coil pitch can be dealt with while enhancing the shaping accuracy of a coil.
In the device for shaping an electromagnetic coil such that a coil wire 11 is wound spirally and lead parts are led out from the start-of-winding and the end-of-winding end parts of a coil, its shaping jig 17 is arranged such that a core metal 18 is planted in the center of a disc-like base and a pawl part for stopping the start-of-winding end part of the coil wire is provided on the outer circumferential side of base bearing surface oppositely to the core metal. The coil is shaped by inserting the forward end lead part of the wire into a gap between the core metal and the pawl part from the side, and turning and elevating the shaping jig by driving a servo motor thereby winding the wire around the core metal 18. The pawl part (stop pawl 24) is fixed, as an independent component, such that the fixing position of the shaping jig to the base can be adjusted. The wire is held by forming a wedge-like tapered face 24a making an acute angle α against the base bearing surface of the shaping jig on the side face of the stop pawl for stopping the coil wire. Shaping accuracy is enhanced by setting a predetermined pitch at the start-of-winding lead part at the time of shaping the coil.
