Abstract:

To hold the state of a collected sample as much as possible so as to keep a constant quality and to save the labor for manufacture.

When a cylindrical sample consisting of a soft rock material or frozen earth is shaped by rotary cutting by this method, the shaping is performed under an atmosphere such that the natural material property possessed by the soft rock material or frozen earth is not changed as for as possible. This device has a bearing support 3 interlocked with a motor 5 for rotating a sample 7, the other bearing support 4 having a sample pressing set part 41, and a cutter movable in parallel to and at a right angle to the axial center direction of the bearing supports 3, 4. This device has a curing box 2 enclosing the bearing supports 3, 4 and the cutter, and an atmosphere forming vessel 6 and a thermometer-hygrometer 8 are provided within the curing box 2.
