Title:
SHED SECTION REPAIRING METHOD FOR COMPOSITE INSULATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3286538
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repair a shed section having a defect without wasting a good shed section by partially removing the shed section having the defect, and joining a repairing material to the removed portion for repair.
SOLUTION: When a defect section 11 exists at the shed tip of a shed section 4, a shed tip portion larger than the defect section 11 and including the defect section 11 is partially cut off to form a shed tip removal section 12. The same material as that constituting the shed section 4, e.g. unvulcanized silicone rubber 13, is stuffed to be slightly larger than the actual size of the shed tip portion. A die 14 is set to cover a part of the shed tip portion and the silicone rubber 13. The whole is kept at 160°C for 60min by a heating device, for example, then it is released from the die 14 and finish-machined. Only the defect section 11 of the shed section 4 having a defect is repaired, and the defect can be repaired without wasting a good shed section 4 with small man-hours, a simple device, and the minimum required repairing member such as rubber.
