PURPOSE: To provide a shedding mechanism for a small-sized loom having simple structure and capable of performing plural weaving cycles by one revolution of a driving shaft.

CONSTITUTION: The mechanism is composed of a tappet cam 1 having a large- diameter part and a small-diameter part, a driving shaft 6 to support the tappet cam in a relatively rotatable state, a plurality of engaging members 9 attached to the tappet cam in a state freely movable in radial direction and engaging with plural grooves 8 of the driving shaft to transmit the rotational power to the tappet cam, plural shedding control members (11,12,13,14,15,16) to engage these engaging members with the above grooves according to the signal corresponding to the shedding pattern and a fixed guiding part 10 to fix the engaging member engaged with the groove to the engaged state for one weaving cycle by the shedding control member. The shedding control member is placed near the starting end of the fixed guiding part in the rotating direction of the driving shaft.
