PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress lifting up of a sheet in a state of adhering to a pressing section at the time of upward movement of the pressing section after pressing sheets in a device binding the sheets using adhesive.SOLUTION: A sheet binding device includes a supporting section and a pressing section. The supporting section holds a sheet bundle where adhesive is applied to a predetermined position of a front surface of each sheet. The pressing section is moved in directions where being brought into contact with a first surface being one surface of a supporting member and facing a sheet surface and being separated therefrom. When being moved in the direction where being brought into contact with the first surface, the pressing section pressurizes the predetermined position of the sheet by pinching the predetermined position together with the first surface. When being moved in the direction where being separated from the first surface from a pressurized state, the pressing section is rotated with a movement direction serving as a rotation axis direction.
