PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform processing without breaking a sheet extended over a drawer part and a conveyance part, and prevent breakage of the sheet following the preceding sheet by suppressing conveyance of the preceding sheet of the sheet extended over the drawer part and the conveyance part.SOLUTION: A sheet conveyance device includes: a drawer part which has a conveyance roller pair conveying a sheet and can be drawn from a device body; and a control part which controls the operation of a conveyance part having a separation roller pair that can contact with each other and separate from each other for conveying the sheet received from the drawer part with normal or reverse rotation. The control part separates the separation roller pair when the sheet jam occurs in the state where the preceding sheet is nipped in the separation roller pair and the sheet following the preceding sheet is extended over the drawer part and the conveyance part, releases separation of the separation roller pair after conveying the following sheet to the space between the separation roller pair by the conveyance roller pair, and conveys the following sheet together with the preceding sheet by the separation roller pair to a position where the following sheet is not extended over the drawer part and the conveyance part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
