PURPOSE: To correctly adjust meandering motion of a sheet, by detecting the displacement of the sheet from its prescribed conveyance path with a detecting means and displacing a rotary unit, for holding and transferring the sheet, to the conveying direction in accordance with a detection signal of said detecting means.

CONSTITUTION: If paper 1 is displaced to the right side direction of an arrow head 29, a meandering detector 10 firstly detects the displacement. That is, when the paper 1 deflectively moves to the right side, a quantity of light incident to a photo converter element 103 is decreased, and a current generated in this element 103 is decreased. Accordingly, output voltage of a detector circuit 43 is decreased lower than output voltage of a potentiometer 27, and output of a comparator 45 becomes a signal of positive voltage, while a signal of positive voltage is input to a driver circuit 46, and a motor 26 is rotated forward to the direction of an arrow head 34, then a unit 11, having fixing rollers 18, 19, is turned to the direction of an arrow head 31. In this way, a transfer picture can be fixed by a pair of fixing rollers 8, 9, and the displacement of the paper 1, held and conveyed, can be corrected.
