To provide a sheet conveying device capable of accurately correcting position deviation of a sheet in a width direction of a sheet conveying passage and oblique advancement of the sheet relative to a sheet conveying direction, and an image forming device provided with this.
The sheet conveying device has a width direction detection means comprising a line sensor 104 or 105 extending in the width direction of the sheet conveying passage and arranged at a position where at least one side edge of the sheet P is passed; an oblique advancement amount detection means in which a plurality of line sensors 104, 105 extending in the width direction of the conveying passage and arranged at a position where at least one side edge of the sheet is passed are arranged in the sheet conveying direction at a clearance narrower than sheet length; and a width direction correction means and an oblique advancement amount correction means 201-204 for feedback-loop-correcting the width direction position and the oblique advancement amount until the detection result of both detection means becomes a desired value. The sheet is conveyed while correcting the width direction position and the oblique advancement amount in the desired state and formation of an image is performed.
