Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device that, even when a sheet remaining in a conveyance path conveying sheets in a direction against the gravity is dropped, enables a user to easily remove the dropped sheet, and an image forming apparatus including the sheet conveying device.SOLUTION: A first conveying part of a sheet conveying device according to the present invention conveys a sheet in a direction against the gravity along a first conveyance path provided in a direction intersecting with the horizontal direction. A second conveying part feeds a sheet from a sheet storage part to a second conveyance path having one end connected to the sheet storage part and the other end to the first conveyance path while being bent, and conveys the sheet to the first conveyance path along the second conveyance path. A conveyance control part performs, during residual stop where a residual sheet is present in the first conveyance path, closing control of causing the second conveying part to convey the sheet to a closed position at which a lower side of the residual sheet in the gravity direction of the first conveyance path is closed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
