Registration rollers 15 serving as a pressing member are supported by a holder 17 rotatably supported with both ends while a reception section 17A serving as the rotation center, and the tip of a sheet P excited and fed by a sheet feed roller 4 collides with the registration rollers 15 for registration. The registration rollers 15 are formed into a spherical shape, the holder 17 supporting the registration rollers 15 supports the registration rollers 15 rotatably in all directions and prevents the drop of the registration rollers 15 with pawls. The conveying force of the sheet P regulates only the rotating direction of the sheet feed roller 4 without regulating the rotating direction of the registration rollers 15, and the occurrence of a sag or a wrinkle between the registration rollers 15 is prevented for various sheets and under various environmental conditions, thereby stable sheet conveying performance can be obtained.
