To ensure those of operations that rocking motions of flappers are surely completed, and sheet material is discharged to the specified tray, and also to facilitate the raising of accuracy in the early detection of rocking nonconformity at a manufacturing process, in a sheet processing unit which rocks a plurality of flappers with one operating means alone.
Two detecting means 90 and 91 are installed on each locus of two connecting members 38 and 39 coupling via four flappers 81, 82, 83 and 84 and elastic members 42, 43, 44 and 45. In the case where any operation is impossible to be done within the specified time, it is so judged that a sheet is not sorted to the specified tray, a warning is transmitted to a user, or a device is stopped otherwise.
