Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of jam of sheets at the time of feeding of a thick sheet or feeding back by disposing a detector for detecting the pres ence or the absence of a sheet to be conveyed near a feed roller and a tension roller.
CONSTITUTION: When a sheet 1 is inserted to a paper guide 2, a detector 3 is operated to detect the 'presence' of the sheet, and a signal from the detector 3 is transmitted to a motor 5 to operate the motor 5. Since the motor 5 is coupled to a tension shaft 4 via a gear, when the motor 5 is operated, the shaft 4 is rotated in the direction indicated by arrow A, and a tension roller 6 held at the one end of a spring member 10 fixed at its center to the shaft 4 is pressed to a feed roller 7 to hold the sheet 1. Since the roller 7 is always rotated in the direction indicated by arrow B, the sheet 1 is guided by the guide 2 and fed to a tractor fed between a platen 9 and a printing mechanism 8.
