To perform high quality bookbinding finishing without defacement in a cutting face while eliminating the need for the removal and polishing of a cutting edge every time a device is used even if the edge is ferrous.
The device is provided with a pressing means holding a bundle of sheet at a prescribed cutting position. It is further provided with a cutting means cutting the bundle of sheet, and a bundle conveying means feeding and the bundle of sheet to the cutting position. Moreover, a control means controlling the cutting means and the bundle conveying means is constituted of a cutting width setting means setting a finishing cutting width based on sheet size information and final finishing size information, and a conveyance amount control means controlling the feeding amount of the bundle conveying means corresponding to the cutting width at the cutting position. Furthermore, the control means is configured to have a first operation mode cutting the sheet bundle at the finishing cutting width set by the cutting width setting means, and a second operation mode cutting the sheet bundle at a plurality of times at a cutting width smaller than the finishing cutting width set by the cutting width setting means to be in the final finishing cutting width.
