Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet electricity eliminating device that can suppress damage to the tip of a destaticizing needle, and an image forming apparatus including the sheet electricity eliminating device.SOLUTION: In a sheet electricity eliminating device including a plurality of destaticizing needles 106a that are arranged in a sheet width direction so that the tip being a free end is directed toward a sheet surface, a holding member 108 that holds the plurality of destaticizing needles on a holding surface 108a, and a plurality of partition members 109 that are arranged erected between the destaticizing needles on the holding surface, a regulation member 101 is provided, which is arranged to be opposite to the holding surface of the holding member with the destaticizing needles therebetween and regulates the range of movement of the tips of the destaticizing needles when the destaticizing needles touch a regulation surface 101b provided on the regulation member 101; and within the range from the holding surface to a position at least 5° smaller than the regulation surface in an angle formed by a virtual plane including the regulation surface and the holding surface, the length from a starting point, which is an end on the destaticizing needle side of the regulation member, to the tip of the destaticizing needle is smaller than the distance from the starting point to an end surface of the partition member.
