Abstract:
To provide a sheet feed device capable of precluding misfeeding or a jam occurrence without dropping the sheet feeding efficiency from a sheet feed tray by elevating and sinking the tray at the specified timings.
The sheet feed device includes a sensing means 28 which performs sensing whether the tray 10 is in the first position in tight attachment to a sendout roller 11 or in the second position apart from the sendout roller 11. The tray 10 is set in the second position after the end of the sheet feeding motion, and also a controlling means 29, which after setting of the sheets, moves the tray 10 via the first position to be changed again to the second position immediately before the start of the sheet feeding motion.
