To provide a sheet feed roller capable of eliminating interference of a punch at a projection forming time even when height of a plurality of projections is increased or an angle α between a projection in the rotation direction and a projection is decreased, and increasing grip force at a sheet conveying time, and its manufacturing method.
The sheet feed roller 1 comprises a metallic roller section 2 with a cylindrical outline and the plurality of projections 4 projected circumferentially and axially on the circumferential surface of the roller section 2. The projections 4 are formed of radial cut projections 5 having one surface side 5a formed in the rotation direction of the roller section 2 and reverse cut projections 6 having one surface side 6a formed in the opposite direction to the surface side of the radial cut projections 5. The radial cut projections 5 are formed in two or more rows in the circumferential direction, namely the arrow A direction, adjacently in the axial direction, namely the arrow B direction, of the roller section 2. The reverse cut projections 6 are formed in the circumferential direction adjacently in the axial direction of the radial cut projections 5.
