Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder that does not require any tool for size detection and adjustment in factory assembly, and eliminates the need to use a sheet, a scale, etc., when a correction value for size re-detection is set in a market place, and makes variance smaller than when the correction value is set with the sheet.SOLUTION: A sheet feeder comprises: a tray where sheets are stacked; feeding means of feeding the sheets stacked on the tray; a pair of alignment means of aligning sheet widths in a direction orthogonal to the feeding direction of the sheets stacked on the tray; and size detecting means of detecting positions of the alignment means and detecting a width of sheets, and the pair of alignment means each have a first abutting part which abuts when made to operate in a narrow-sheet-width direction, and a second abutting part which abuts when made to operate in a wide-sheet-width direction, size detection being performed by making correction from a value detected with the alignment means abutting on the first and second abutting parts.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
