To warn the contamination of a roller so that a user can easily clean a roller with a roller cleaner.

This roller cleaner comprises a contamination detection means for detecting the contamination on the surface of the intermittent roller part of a roller and a warning buzzer, a warning lamp, and a display panel for warning the contamination. The pitch of the intermittent roller part of the roller is allowed to generally match the pitch of the suction cup of a feed-out mechanism, and the width of the intermittent roller part is made smaller than the skirt diameter of the suction cup. A cleaner 55 for cleaning the surface of the intermittent roller part comprises a film-like body 64 generally identical to a film transferable by the feed-out mechanism. Water absorbing wiping cloths 67 and 68 are attached near the tip of the film-like body 64 through elastic bodies 65 and 66. The positions of the elastic bodies 65 and 66 and the wiping cloths 67 and 68 are allowed to correspond with the intermittent roller part. Cutout parts 69 and 70 are formed at the front part of the film-like body 64 so as to correspond with the wiping cloths 67 and 68 to avoid the interference thereof with the intermittent roller part.
