PURPOSE: To obtain a superconducting material having high safety without using a highly poisonous material, to obtain a superconducting material having characteristics easy to control and easily convertible into a single-phase material, to provide a superconducting material which causes no sudden escape of oxygen even at high temp. and hardly undergoes deterioration in the characteristics and to provide a superconducting material which hardly undergoes deterioration in the characteristics even in the presence of water and steam.
CONSTITUTION: This metal oxide material has a compsn. represented by a formula LnaCebSrcCuc-xMxOy wherein 3.7<a+b+c<4.3, 0.3<b<1.0, 1.7<c<2.3, 0.04<x<0.5, Ln is one or more kinds of elements or an atomic group selected among Y and lanthanoids, and M is one or more kinds of elements or an atomic group selected among Mo, W and Re.
