Abstract:
To stably feed various sheets and contribute to productivity improvement.SOLUTION: A sheet detection position by second detection means is located more outside in the width direction than a sheet detection position by first detection means and is different in a position in the feeding direction. Control means changes a mode of feeding operation based on information on the length in the width direction of a sheet acquired by size acquiring means. In a first mode, after starting to feed a preceding sheet, when at least one of the first detection means and the second detection means changes from a detection state to a non-detection state, feeding of a subsequent sheet is started. In a second mode, after starting to feed the preceding sheet, regardless of detection result of the second detection means, when the first detection means changes from the detection state to the non-detection state, feeding of the subsequent sheet is started. The first mode is executed when a sheet of a first size is fed. The second mode is executed when a sheet of a second size having a shorter length in the width direction than the sheet of the first size is fed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
