Abstract:
To provide a sheet feeding device capable of rapidly feeding sheets.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding device comprises: driving means capable of rotating a roll formed by winding a sheet in a first direction for feeding the sheet to a conveying path and a second direction opposite to the first direction; and a sensor that detects a tip end part of the sheet on the roll. The sheet feeding device performs a preparatory operation of stopping the tip end part within a predetermined range after rotating the roll in the second direction when feeding the sheet onto the conveying path. When the roll is rotated in the second direction at a first speed and the rotation of the roll is stopped based on a detection result of the sensor, the driving means rotates the roll in the second direction when the tip end part stops at a position beyond the predetermined range, and controls the rotation of the roll so that the tip end part stops within the predetermined range after a second speed slower than the first speed is set.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
