Abstract:
To provide a sheet folder adapted to reduce the dirt on a surface of a folding roller due to a friction between a sheet and the folding roller and the dirt on each sheet due to friction between sheets stacked.SOLUTION: A sheet folder comprises a folding roller pair, a blade unit having a folding blade, a blade drive mechanism and a roller drive mechanism. The roller drive mechanism has a roller drive source to rotate the folding roller pair and a drive-transmission member to deliver the drive force of the roller drive source to the folding roller pair. The blade drive mechanism has: a first drive unit that has a blade drive source to drive the blade unit and a first transmission member to deliver the drive force of the blade drive source to the blade unit; and a second drive unit that has a second transmission member to deliver the drive force of the roller drive source to the blade unit. In the state a tip of the folding blade is nipped by a nip portion, a rack member meshes with the second transmission member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
