To provide a sheet folding apparatus capable of accurately performing folding processing, while reducing the size of the apparatus, by efficiently arranging sheet transport paths.
In the sheet folding apparatus for forming a fold on a sheet which is transported to a first transport path having a carry-in entrance 30 and a carrying-out exit 31, a second transport path 34 is branched off and arranged in an orthogonal direction from an intermediate point between a carry-in entrance 30 and a carrying-out exit 31 of the first transport path 32, and a third transport path 35 is also branched off and arranged in an orthogonal direction opposite of the second transport path from the intermediate point. The second transport path 34 and the third transport path 35 are communicated and form a folding processing passage 33 where a folding processing mechanism 48 for performing the folding processing to the sheet, branched off and introduced from the first transport path 32, is provided.
